"I want to quit 1st Grade!"

So, it has been quite the adjustment to 1st grade for Gabriel. And, I must admit, for myself. At one point, after realizing that he had homework and had to go to ball practice, he declared that he wanted to quit 1st grade. He (I mean, really "we") is adjusting to being at school "full day" now instead of only "half day." He told me one day that 1st grade is "taking all his time." Bless his little heart. He has a "long (scholastic) row to hoe" if he already wants to quit at first grade!

Oh . . . for the by-gone days of half-day Kindergarten. Speaking of, here are pictures of the end of school last year that I didn't post. So, if you will, humor me and enjoy this picture montage of the end of our school year. Ok. Well, if you scroll really fast down and hum a little diddy it will seem more "montage-y."

A bit of foreshadowing perhaps?

All-Star Readers' Night at the Rome Braves -for students who met certain reading goals every month during a portion of the school year, the school librarian sponsored a trip to our Rome Braves.

I adore this picture! This is one of Gabriel's favorite friends. (Note: the same one in picture above). They both did this spontaneously. I promise I didn't pose them this way.

Last Day of School for both "boys"

Last day of blissful, half-day, no homework inducing, still having snack time Kindergarten!

Actually, now, after the first month, he has settled in and is back to his "school-loving-self!" I guess we won't be quitting after all.
